WORSHIP: AN ENCOUNTER WITH GOD.

Music and Worship Arts Ministry

The Music and Worship Arts Ministry serves the church and the larger community outside these walls, God continues to use many committed and dedicated singers and instrumentalists to lead the congregation in praise and worship, and serve the church whenever needed. Our Music and Worship Arts Ministry seeks to discern the flow of the Holy Spirit in each worship service and to follow the Spirit’s lead both musically and spiritually. The ministry works in unity and cooperation with our pastor and other worship leaders. Our utmost motivation and desire is to see the congregation enter into God’s presence. Our Music and Worship Arts Ministry currently includes:

  • Gladiators for Christ Praise Team

  • DL/DZ Jackson Choir

  • Liberty Chorale Ensemble

  • Silent Praise Ministry

Media Ministry

The Media Ministry’s mission is to manage audio quality during Sunday worship service, produce live media streams and recorded mediums of the worship experience. the ministry provides a way for individuals to virtually connect to others within the Liberty web community and to provide awareness of, and an invitation to, Liberty events. 

OFFICiAL GREETERS

Organized in 1962, the objective of the Official Greeters is to welcome visitors to the church, with a warm and unique welcome .

SENIOR USHER BOARD

The year 1925 marks the founding of the Senior Usher Board, which according to the Board's April 1960 pamphlet, was organized to solve "two main problems: 1) teaching members how to usher and 2) how to give financial support to the church.”

CHILDRENS' CHURCH

The Children's Church has many volunteer workers who tend to it’s attendees. Their program includes a Sunday School from 9 a.m. to 10:15 a.m., a Children's Activity Hour from 11 to 12 featuring Bible drills, religious movies and crafts. The Children's Church worship service is from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. with its own Ushers, Choir, Preacher, Jr. Deacons, and Jr. Trustees.

SISTERHOOD

The Sisterhood centers on relationships between women, whether it is mother to daughter, sister to sister, or friend to friend. Emphasis is also placed on wholesome interaction with the significant male counterparts in their lives. It is strategically designed to touch, empower, include, involve, and encircle every woman of Liberty Baptist Church.

NURSE’S HEALTH MINISTRY BOARD

The goal of The Nurse's Health Ministry is to be of service to Liberty members and to inform and support them with health information. The club’s motto is 'Service with a smile.’

Feed The People Ministry

This outreach ministry meets and feeds our community spiritually and physically each 4th Saturday of the month.

New Membership Committee

This committee welcomes, orientates and mentors to new members as they complete the membership process.

SERVE:

FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN MEN

Organized in May 1952, as the Men's Club, it was reorganized in the 1990's as the Fellowship of Christian Men. The goal of this club is to support men in the church and community in their roles as fathers, citizens and church leaders.

OLIVE LEAF WILLING WORKERS OUTREACH MINISTRY

The club seeks to maintain contact with Liberty's new members and to support the church's financial program. Specifically, they keep in touch with members of the church who are sick and shut-in, and keep them abreast of all church and community activities.

SCHOLARSHIP AID CLUB

The committee originally organized as the Scholarship Council, offers scholarships to Liberty's brightest college attendees, ages 16-25.. More recently the club renamed itself the Scholarship Aid Club.

BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL CLUB

In 1963, Pastor A. P. Jackson conceived the idea of organizing members who were in a variety of businesses and professions that would be of special assistance in carrying out the church's program. From this idea, the Business and Professional Club (BAP) was organized.

DEAcons, TRUSTEES AND MINISTER’s SPOUSES

Organized in 1945 by Mrs. L. M. Saraggins, then the National Chairman of Deacon's Wives, the ministry has grown in membership over the years to include spouses of Ministers and Trustees.

GOOD SAMARITAN LILY OF THE VALLEY

In September 1934 Liberty's staff, aware of the financial struggle the Rev. D. Z. Jackson was having in caring for his family, formed the Official Club to assist him. The venture was so successful the club decided not to disband and changed its name to the Good Samaritan Club. Today, now merged with the Lily of the Valley, the club functions primarily to help raise funds for Liberty. The club stages annual affairs for this purpose.

NEW PROGRESSIVE WIDE AWAKE CLUB

In November 1935, the Wide Awake Club was formed to keep pace with Liberty's ever increasing membership. The name of the club was changed in the 1990's to reflect a shift in it’s mission.

UNITY CIRCLE CLUB

Formed in 1942, the club's members visit the sick, contribute to charitable causes and sponsors events.

Free N’One Ministry

Free N’One Ministry is a spiritual 12-Step support program for those in the addiction recovery process.

BAPTIST TRAINING UNION

Through the years Liberty's B.T.U. has among other things sent delegates to the National Congress, published annual year books, presented musical extravaganzas, held annual training classes, sponsored oratorical contests, held fellowship banquets and sponsored educational fund drives.

CHURCH SCHOOL

With an active enrollment of youth, teenagers and adults, the Church School, organized in 1918, is one of Liberty's largest groups. Its curriculum emphasizes a deep study of the Bible. The school's volunteer teachers are under the administration of the Pastor and the General Superintendent.

NEW MEMBERSHIP Class

Individuals who join Liberty attend new membership classes to become oriented on biblical principles, church history and educational opportunities to support spiritual growth.

MEN OF FAITH MINISTRY

  The Men of Faith Ministry is geared towards men that have determined to serve the Lord.  They represent men across life’s spectrum that trust in the Lord with the confidence that Joshua expressed in the Old Testament.

WOMEN OF FAITH MINISTRY

Liberty’s Women of Faith Ministry is a platform for women to bear witness to the power of Jesus as Mary, Mary Magdalene and Salome did when they rendered to Jesus needs over 2,000 years ago.  It is our prayer that women of Liberty ignite our faith and bring us the good news of Christ’s presence in our lives.  

JESUS AND ME (JAM YOUTH MINISTRY)

Our children are our greatest asset in the church, it is our desire that they have a personal relationship with Christ.  Liberty’s Jesus and Me (JAM) Youth Ministry has been designed to achieve this end.  The JAM ministry will address the needs of our youth at the various stages of their development, as listed below:

6 months to 5 years old -Little Lambs (Sunday Care)

6 to 11 years old – Giant Slayers

12 to 18 (Senior High School) – Teens In Transformation

LOVE NEVER ENDS MINISTRY

This ministry is designed to support couples living within the biblical definition of marriage.  The Love Never Ends Ministry provides a platform for men and women to share their feelings and challenges with one another as they seek God’s purpose for their marriage.  The foundational scripture for this ministry is 1 Corinthians 13: 4-8.

NEVER ALONE SINGLES MINISTRY

This ministry supports the premise that none of God’s children are alone when living and serving God.  Paul supports this notion in I Corinthians 7.
